Morek was established with the aim of dedicating our specialist skills towards a sustainable future, in both ethos and action.

For us this means applying our knowledge and know-how towards enhancing and strengthening the blue economy. We focus our efforts towards three main objectives:
  • Generating of clean energy from the power of the marine environment
  • Reducing the impact of marine transportation
  • Contribution to the reversal and recovery of our polluted seas

Jovie Stone

Lead Project Engineer

Jovie is Morek’s Lead Project Engineer with almost a decade of experience in engineering analysis to support the offshore renewable’s industry, specialising in marine operations modelling and mooring design. These skills are complemented by significant experience supervising marine operations on a broad range of offshore projects. He is equally happy offshore supervising a 200-tonne heavy lift as analysing the dynamics of a complex offshore systems model.

Jovie has a degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Lloyd’s Certificate in Naval Architecture and is currently pursuing chartered status. He was recently awarded Business Cornwall’s 30 under 30 for his role in starting and developing Morek.

Arthur Guy

Project Engineer

Arthur is a Project Engineer with experience in engineering design, analysis and programming with a focus on offshore renewables. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol (which included an internship at James Fisher Marine Services) and a Lloyds Certificate in Naval Architecture. He joined the Morek team and quickly gained key skills through technical projects. These include the design and optimisation of advanced mooring systems, using OrcaFlex in conjunction with python to undertake iterative design processes for optimised solutions. Developing storyboards for marine operations along with risk assessed methods statements, working on offshore projects as a Project Engineer and reforming internal processes.
